Title 6 : TEST

MBJB public relations officer Aziz Ithnin said the council had established the Vector Disease Carrier Control Unit, under its Health Department to seek and destroy rat nests.
The unit, which has 10 personnel, had killed millions of rats.
Last year alone, MBJB killed more than 2, 715 rats while in 2011, the special unit, which also carries out monthy operations, had exterminated more than 2,100.
“Despite forming the special rat unit, the number of rats just keeps growing yearly,” he said.

Title 5 : TEST

A total of 3,144 rats were caught in 2011, 3,070 last year and 1,687 this year, said Penang Municipal Council Public Health committee alternate chairman Ong Ah Teong.
He said places which had been identified with high rat infestation are Jelutong, Air Itam, Bandar Baru Air Itam, Taman Free School and Padang Tembak and Pulau Tikus.
In Johor Baru, the city council (MBJB) also has not been successful in destroying rats. It had set up a unit to exterminate rodents more than 20 years ago but the number of rats keeps going up.
